English language challenges

English classes have been a little difficult for me because I get nervous when I have to speak in public unexpectedly, instead it is different when I speak because I want to. The teacher makes us interact every class, so it makes me nervous knowing that at some point she will choose me and not knowing the exact moment in which it will happen. A bit of my desire to keep things under control... In this sense, I must improve my security when speaking.

I like the English teacher, I like the way she teaches and that she looks for alternatives to teach us, such as when we have to pair up to talk and practice what we learned in class.  It has been nice to learn from my classmates while learning English.

The use of blogs seemed like an ingenious way of putting our English into practice and it also allows us to get to know our classmates and the teacher better.

Outside of class, I really like to watch movies and series in English, or if I have to watch them in Spanish, put English subtitles on them.  On the other hand, every day I listen to music and I like to know what the songs say in English, so I constantly look for their translations or try to understand them on my own.

TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE

I am very curious about the year 2050, being that we will be going through a climate crisis that I cannot imagine the degree of in this present moment . Due to this I would travel to 2050 or to 2060 to be able to witness the peak of the climate crisis, although I think it would be difficult to live in peace in the present knowing what awaits us and also the fact that there is not much to do to prevent it.

On the other hand, I would like to travel to the year 2030 to visit my cousins and my sister, and see what is going on in their lives at that time. I am curious to know what kind of people they will turn out to be. It would make me happy to see that they have achieved their goals and if that is not the case, when returning to the present, I would advise them not to make such deviations from their goals, although, if destiny is a real concept, perhaps they will end up in the same situation in the future.

I also find it interesting to go much later ok into the future, to the year 2100. I ask myself, what will become of planet earth at that time?

Another scenario in this situation is that I decide not to travel in time to the future because it could make me anxious to have such knowledge, as the saying: "curiosity killed the cat".

CHANGES TO THE PROGRAMME

It seems to me that the amount of time that we must study a major in a university is unrealistic since all the knowledge that is shared to us students is not retained in our minds. The real knowledge that we will be able acquire is during practice. In this sense, I think it is necessary to generate alternative teaching methods, which could be based on putting what has been learned into practice, with the use of the exemplification of experiences related to the curriculum.

The use of a new and dynamic curriculum has more didactic capacities that can cause a strong impact which would make us students develop a greater interest in learning and a minor degree of stress. An improved curriculum must take into account the neutro divergence present throughout the student body when carrying out these changes.

University has been very complex for me due to the fact that I have concentration problems, poor memory and periods of demotivation. This situation has made me feel inadequate for academic standards in many occasions.

In addition to my concentration issues, I often feel a little restless in the classroom so my concentration is sometimes focused on keeping still. Regarding the English class, I get nervous when I have to speak and I feel some pressure which causes me to be clumsy.

On the other hand, it is evident that some infrastructure of different faculties are more neglected than others, such as the situation at the Faculty of Arts, which has been exposed to rainwater in the building during the winter.

DREAM JOB

I would like my future career to be related to the problems experienced by young people in precarious contexts, since this is something that has always infuriated me a lot. These strong feelings have lead me lead me to reflect and try to understand the reality they are faced with. Given this situation, it seems important to me to work on a project in order to construct a just society where children and young people can grow up without being exposed to the violence present in the capitalist system, where there is a real concern that knows how to respond to their needs, taking into account that it is a crucial period for them to develop into better people in the future.

In regards to the salary, I think that the ideal salary is one  that is decent enough in relation to my performance and facilitates me to be able to live without worries about my basic needs, being so I wouldn’t have to expose myself to life's precarious situations. In the event that my salary is raised, I would like to use that extra money to fund and continue developing a project in an improved manner.

I am majoring is sociology and I chose this major due to my lasting interest and inspiration in social activism and awareness. It is important to add the fact that I am constantly reflecting on various areas of society and what aspects I would like to manage considerable changes to make it fairer.

HOLIDAYS

One of my best vacations was in February of this year when a friend invited me to visit Valparaíso with her friends for 3 days. During these vacations we took many photos, recorded videos, got on the cableway, visited the port, ate vegan food, laugthed a lot and visited the cemetery but the most special day for me was when we visited an artificial lagoon called “Tranque de la Luz”, which was more than an hour from where we stayed. The place was nice, quiet and many things happened that made the day much better.

This day we walked through trees, passed a pet cemetery, saw white blankets on the ground and hanging, next to a swing. The place seemed mysterious and magical to us. We stayed to spend the afternoon next to a bridge that was closed, where we talked with some guys, who offered to bring us home because they were also going back to Valparaíso.

Returning to Valparaíso, we went to a bar where the owner of the place gave us a skull with green absinthe. It was a nice gesture accompanied by a hug, I still don't understand why she gave us a hug but it was very sweet of her.

When night came, I got together with three mates of career. They were near Valparaíso and they talked to me to go out, even though they didn't know me very well. We went to a lookout, we had an incredible time and today I am still grateful to meet them.

I’d like to visit Mexico

I would like to live in mexico or some caribbean country. First of all because the weather. The climatical conditions are very friendly to live. There are fruits and beaches everywhere, you can live in touch with the nature.

For what they told me, the people of mexico are very warm and nice, they treat you with tenderness. I would like to visil the archeological museums and ruins, there is a lot of archeological richness, I would like to learn about that and meet the Teotihuacán and Chichén Itzá pyramids seem very interesting to me. Also in the golfo of mexico you can visit the crater of the chicxulub meteor and the cenotes around there. The cenotes are little craters that were made from the rests of space rock that the meteoro left, and now are natural biomas with their own extrange and unique ecosystem, also you can swim in them
